The dingo does not have many friends and farmer for him gunning <br />But dingo is a clever dog and he live by his cunning <br />The farmer on look out for him an eye out for him keeping <br />But dingo come and steal the lamb at night when farmer's sleeping. <br /> <br />The dingo was the black man's friend and black man once his master <br />Till white man came and stole the Land for dingo a disaster <br />And white man he's learned to mistrust since white hunter shot his mother <br />And trapped and beat his dad to death and snared and killed his brother. <br /> <br />For cunning and elusiveness the red fox he can rival <br />And like the fox he too has learnt the lesson of survival <br />And if he kills a lamb or calf he must eat to stay living <br />Though farmer he does not understand and he feels unforgiving.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-dingo/
