The restless waves splash up white foam upon the rocky shore
But I feel a peace within me like I've seldom felt before
All alone with mother Nature in Inverloch by the sea
The world is so much quieter here and of any stress I'm free.

An evening in late Summer it is a pleasant day
The sun behind the heavy clouds has hid itself away
A fresh spray from the ocean blowing in the gentle breeze
In what is ideal temperatures near 23 degrees.

The shag his wings spread out to dry perched on volcanic rock
There's plenty fish for him to eat in the sea by Inverloch
And graceful gannet from the sky he stalks the small fish shoal
And dives to kill with folded wings where the huge surf waves roll.

Against the rocky outcrop the angry big waves pound
All alone with mother nature I'm the only human around
The silver gulls are circling the cliffs above the shore
And I feel a peace within me like I've seldom felt before.

Francis Duggan

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/all-alone-with-mother-nature/
