I see a girl, <br />Crying all alone, <br />I see a girl <br />Sitting still as stone. <br />I see a girl <br />Hidden beneath <br />Shadows of a haunted past <br />And a thousand griefs. <br />I see a girl, <br />Lost and confused, <br />Wondering if this is the last time <br />She will ever be used. <br />I see a girl, <br />Fragile and afraid <br />That her efforts in this world <br />Will be left unpaid. <br />I see a girl <br />Stifling screams and moans, <br />and although she’s surrounded by many people, <br />she feels so alone. <br />Who is this girl? <br />ME. <br />But who would’ve guessed? <br />No one really knows me, <br />My masks just won’t let me confess. <br />The girl you think you know <br />Has just another painted on smile <br />Forced on her face <br />By her many trials. <br />I see a girl <br />Who denies that everything’s wrong, <br />And nothing is right, <br />Although inside she’s known the truth all along. <br />I see a girl <br />Who runs from her fear. <br />And tries to hide <br />A million tears. <br />And that girl is <br />ME. <br />ME. <br />ME.<br /><br />beautiful imperfection<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-see-a-girl/
