Mistletoe sprigs and chocolate moose <br />Circus on the tele’ <br />Chicken, turkey, roasted goose <br />Bowls of wobbly jelly <br /> <br /> <br />Colour card greetings in the post <br />Great parcels in a heap <br />Glasses raised for another toast <br />Excited kids can’t sleep <br /> <br /> <br />But what is Christmas all about <br />Few people seem to know <br />For some a time to fool about <br />As children in the snow <br /> <br /> <br />While some who think there’s nothing wrong <br />With wine women and dancing <br />Others observe it through a song <br />With bells and reindeer prancing <br /> <br /> <br />For some white icing on a cake <br />Stockings full of treats <br />Children skating on frozen lake <br />Snowmen in the streets <br /> <br /> <br />Twisted bunting, lights that blink <br />Rum, sweet cherry brandy <br />Grownups chatting lots to drink <br />Children full of candy <br /> <br /> <br />A time of rest a time of joy <br />Of presents great and small <br />But who recalls The Baby Boy <br />Born in a cattle stall <br /> <br /> <br />Who spares a thought on Jesus Christ <br />This day in cold December <br />The Saviour whom God sacrificed <br />So few seems remember...<br /><br />Michael P.
