I’m lurking beneath the shadows <br />Where scattered bones a lay <br />By night I watch the daunting <br />Dead innocent men pay. <br /> <br />As blood trickles down my arm <br />Tears tumble down my check <br />I sit back and watch all weep <br /> <br />The bony fingers of the night <br />Tap on my shoulder <br />I look behind me, <br />But all I see is the horizon <br /> <br />The Wind turns my head to see <br />Another one dead, <br />Hanging from a tree, <br />But it is not men, who kill these folks, <br />For it is a much more powerful being. <br /> <br />Like a snake, or a bear, or a lion. <br />Only it’s not these creatures above. <br />With a wing span bigger than that of a dove, <br />And eyes of a menacing tiger, <br />Teeth like sharpened swords, <br />Fire from its nose, <br />And only four toes. <br /> <br />Rip through the flesh, <br />Munch on the bones, <br />Swallow the juicy flesh <br />And steal their mobile phones.<br /><br />Natasha StubbsEnnis<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-m-lurking-beneath-the-shadows/
