Today I have grown wiser… <br />I’ve never wanted to catch a rainbow <br />I’ve never wanted to bottle up sunshine <br />I’ve never wanted to own the mountains <br />And I’ve never wanted to capture the sky <br />I‘ve loved all of these and more <br />Yet did not want to make them mine <br />Which is when I thought why you? <br />Whose smile is more precious than the purest of pearls, <br />Dispelling the gloom which at times threatens to drown. <br />Whose happiness gives me the greatest joy? <br />Who says nothing yet everything, making my soul sing. <br />Who has loved me to heaven and back <br />Sans word or touch. <br />I know we belong to others <br />But I also know it is not wrong to love <br />Tell me how can something <br />which feels so beautiful and right to my soul be wrong? <br /> <br />Yes, today I have grown wiser.. <br />For I have learnt it is enough that I love. <br /> <br />(11th February 2002)<br /><br />V..
