I wandered in the desert heat <br />To find the remnants of a ship <br />The only thing left was a wooden seat <br />A sailcloth too a petticoat or slip. <br />So I took the seat and found some string <br />With a few adjustments made this thing <br />That I sat on like a garden swing <br />Then I climbed to the highest peak <br />Sat in my swing and jumped off the cliff. <br />I soared upwards like an eagle with my seat <br />Upwards and more till I could see no more <br />The remnants of that ship or even my take-off point <br />But there lies the crux of writing freestyle where <br />To land this homemade bird of mine. <br />So I wandered for an hour or more and seen <br />A green and pleasant land so descended with aplomb <br />To my start amongst my friends on Poemhunter.com.<br /><br />Craig Anderson<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/flying-freestyle/
