I felt alone, quite down and out <br />So sad, most days I’d cry <br />I’d lived this way, so full of doubt <br />I’d often wished to die <br /> <br />But when You came, and we were wed <br />I drank Salvation’s Wine <br />I felt such joy when darkness fled <br />When all Your love was mine <br /> <br />I sang, I danced, I knelt in prayer <br />You severed; Satan’s ties <br />When chains fell off, whilst sitting there <br />This child; began to rise <br /> <br />A sight, beyond my wildest drams <br />Suspended in mid air <br />I felt Your power flow in streams <br />A foot above my chair <br /> <br />I heard Your voice, my God on high <br />“Today! You’re born anew” <br />You know my God I tell no lie <br />Your servant’s words are true <br /> <br />You shared with me Your living word <br />I felt Your warm embrace <br />Within my room, I even heard <br />Your Wind sweep by my face <br /> <br />I’d never heard, Your voice before <br />I’d never felt such love <br />But when I opened Christ, my door <br />He gave to me, Life’s Dove <br /> <br />Salvation’s Wings inside of me <br />I felt The Fire’s touch <br />I bless the day You set me free <br />And gave this child so much.<br /><br />Michael P.
