Promises given... <br />And then lifted from children, <br />Expecting to be gifted... <br />Dries an anticipation, <br />Bubbling innocently in the younger ones. <br />Those implanted with hopes and dreams... <br />Sparkling and beginning in the minds of some. <br /> <br />And once these exciting wishes diminish... <br />A delighted twinkle in the eyes is lost! <br />Something inside, <br />Feels not right, incomplete and unfinished. <br />Leaving apologies that seldom come, <br />Hard to accept as excuses from anyone! <br />Especially if promises mentioned are not done!<br /><br />Lawrence S.
