Oh Lord my God I’m in distress <br />I’m burdened down with sin <br />Please hear me as now confess <br />How the foe my soul could win <br /> <br />I know of You and Jesus Christ <br />I know of Heaven as well <br />That Jesus once You sacrificed <br />To save man’s soul from hell <br /> <br />But not mine Lord surely not me <br />So dreadful things I’ve done <br />Far too ashamed for You to see <br />Or Jesus Christ Your Son <br /> <br />Oh yes! I know that Christ’s alive <br />I know He lives though yet <br />I know I too could death survive <br />If I would pay my debt <br /> <br />How can I pay for all my crimes? <br />Such filth until today <br />If I could live ten millions times <br />I still could never pay! <br /> <br />That’s why I’m here that’s why I came <br />If I have understood <br />I heard that love! Could take my shame <br />When washed in Jesus’ blood <br /> <br />Oh Lord my God can this be true? <br />Can this be done for me! ! ? <br />Though countless times I‘ve grieved You <br />You’re willing to set me free? <br /> <br />How can You have such marvellous love? <br />Even for such as I? <br />Could still this sinner rise above? <br />And live beyond the sky?<br /><br />Michael P.
