When I think that there is naught good left in this world,
I remind myself of him,
Those of whose deeds are pure as gold,
As is the heart within.
If he lived in the time when tales were spun,
And knights still roamed the land,
He would have been the hero they sang about,
That none had even a hope to withstand.
The evil villains would run in fear,
Because they knew he’d stop at nothing,
To rid the world of all its wrongs,
And end the mindless suffering.
People of all ages, of every race, and of each faith,
Would come to him with their problems,
Where he would lend a listening ear,
Or a shoulder that they needed to cry on.
But, alas, he was chosen for our time,
And now his deeds go unnoticed,
But that doesn’t make him any less of a hero,
Just more so because he doesn’t mind being unrewarded.

angel lockheart

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/knight-in-the-21st-century/
