'Tis written in the Constitution and what this ambiguous statement mean <br />Is that the silent minority should not be heard or seen <br />The votes they have been counted the majority rules for all <br />The winners form the Government though their margin of victory small. <br /> <br />The losers are the minority that's what Democracy is all about <br />The loser like the k o'd boxer who has been counted out <br />The winner speaks for the loser's supporters they call this Democracy <br />But that someone you wish not to speak for you still speaks for you seems baffling to me. <br /> <br />The votes they have been counted and they tell you every vote count <br />But since you voted for the loser your vote to nothing does amount <br />The winner represents you yet what he stands for you oppose <br />And they call this Democracy but that's life I suppose. <br /> <br />Since you voted for the loser on the Election Day <br />In Legislation passed by the Government you do not have a say <br />And they call this a Democracy and tell you that your vote count <br />But since you voted for the loser your vote to nothing does amount.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/they-call-this-a-democracy/
