I walk down this dark, moonlit road alone. <br />Feeling like a hollow, empty corpse. <br />My heart heavy with grief and sorrow. <br /> <br />Ravens fly over my head in the cold dead sky. <br />I keep walking, listening to their deadly violent “caws”. <br />I touch my hands, feeling its unbearable iciness. <br /> <br />Cold, icy snow starts to fall from the sky. <br />My hands grow colder, my face turning pale. <br />I keep walking and walking down this lonely dead road. <br />The icy snow hitting my cold body with every step I take. <br /> <br />My body grows colder and colder. <br />My face feeling frozen, the warmth is fading away with every step. <br />The deadly “caws” growing louder and louder. <br />The cold growing stronger, <br />My heart beats slower and slower, <br />As the cold grows stronger and stronger. <br /> <br />A raven perches on top of a tree by my side. <br />It stares and stares at this pale, corpse like figure walk down the road. <br />The raven “caws”, <br />I simply ignore it and keep walking. <br />As I am taking each step, <br />I start to feel my heart beat fade away, <br />My body feeling heavier than ever. <br /> <br />The raven “caws” louder, <br />It lets out the deadliest “caw”. <br />As it “caws”, <br />My heartbeat fades away, <br />My body falls over as my spirit and soul is lifted. <br />I am no more.<br /><br />Ellen Kang<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/untitled-783/
