With the abundance of Peace <br />The decimation of evil in this world is released <br />With the evaporation of hope from our hearts <br />We are vulnerable for hatred and ignorance to split us apart <br /> <br />For the unification of women and men <br />Can only benefit humanity <br />For as you can witness for yourself <br />We live in a world overflowing with insanity <br />If our past didn’t look so bright <br />Our future doesn’t look any brighter <br /> <br />In a way an epidemic has occurred in this world <br />Were we let hate, jealousy, and greed trickle down from our head to our soul <br />And cause conflicts that eventually lead to the destruction of war <br />With war comes death, people fighting for that sweet taste of success <br />Even if it means breathing in their very last breath <br /> <br />Cant we see the truth unraveling in front of our eyes <br />Not only are we killing each other, leaving poor kids without mothers and fathers <br />Were killing Mother Earth <br />Stripping it from its natural beauty it has blessed us with ever since birth. <br />From my perspective we have to do something now <br />Because another Earth wont be handed to us or found <br /> <br />We can’t hide the past, nor rewrite it <br />Time is running out and we all know we cant fight it <br />I acknowledge the fact that a new beginning can’t be established <br />But who says a better ending can’t be accomplished <br /> <br />2008 © J£H<br /><br />Jorge Luis Hernandez<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/acknowledge-the-truth-because-time-is-ticking/
