My Soul; Did It Ever Live <br /> <br /> <br />In search for love and peace <br />I lost my smiles and tears <br />My soul forgot to live <br /> <br />My restless soul wandered in abandoned alleys <br />In constant search of light <br />Unaffected, life went on <br />The stars did twinkle <br />The wind did blow <br />The rain did pour <br />But my soul forgot to live <br /> <br />Undeterred, my soul staggered along <br />Unconsciously it trudged <br />Onto the path that had <br />No beginning and no end <br />Just ditches and dead ends <br />Again my soul forgot to live <br /> <br />It sauntered silently amidst the dark <br />Climbing up the steps of trail <br />It frequently tumbled <br /> But composed itself again <br />Its efforts to gain contentment <br />Went but vain <br />Even then my soul forgot to live <br /> <br />Surpassing the regulations of survival, <br />It progressed along <br />Searing down the relics <br />And the souvenirs of long gone memories <br />Nothing did it have <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />For support or inspiration <br />Just but the urge to go on <br />In the quest for inner tranquility <br />So, my soul forgot to live <br /> <br />It cried <br />It wailed <br />It mourned <br />But it didn’t smile <br /> <br />It didn’t remember to live………..<br /><br />mashal zehra<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-soul-did-it-ever-live/
