God’s seeking for His Son a bride <br />Perfect in every way <br />So through His Spirit deep inside <br />He’s testing night and day <br /> <br /> <br />He’s testing out our wayward hearts <br />Trying what broils within <br />Searching if one of Satan’s darts <br />Has led our souls to sin <br /> <br /> <br />It’s Satan’s job to prove the seed <br />He’ll lie he’ll steal and cheat <br />He'll tempt and woo the worthless weed <br />From Jesus’ ripening wheat <br /> <br /> <br />Christ warns about the devil’s snares <br />Of testing in this life <br />He warns because He truly cares <br />And wants a faithful wife <br /> <br /> <br />He warns that Satan will deceive <br />Festoon our lives with flaws <br />But those who in His name believe <br />Will close the devil’s jaws <br /> <br /> <br />Even with friends we love so dear <br />Will darkness seek its place <br />Will cloud the mind fill hearts with fear <br />To make us lose the race <br /> <br /> <br />In sickness there are testing grounds <br />Yet wisdom proves so well <br />For here the devil makes his rounds <br />To see what pain may tell <br /> <br /> <br />So those now lost, full sin and shame <br />Who die with hearts of stone <br />Its not the devil who’s to blame <br />The choice is ours alone<br /><br />Michael P.
