Old memories, like my old bones <br />are still aging and aching; <br />it could be that they always will, <br />on some level or another. <br /> <br />Seen too many bridges burned <br />and roads that led me nowhere <br />with nothing but sad regrets, <br />and heartaches. <br /> <br />Blaming myself doesn’t make it true. <br />You can only do with what you’ve got; <br />life has always been just a grab bag <br />of hopes and actual circumstances. <br /> <br />Guess the only real truth is that all <br />that could be done, was what i did; <br />all the rest is ‘maybes’, ‘wish i hads, <br />‘wish i’d dones’and the ‘could have beens’.<br /><br />Carolyn Brunelle<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/old-heartaches/
