Tennyson was a great poet and none greater than he
And the brook that he made famous is still flowing down towards the sea
Yes the old brook is still babbling and men have come and gone
And the poet's verse is still living and life on Earth goes on.

Around three hundred seasons on average the life of man
But the brook flows on forever it do not have a time span
Before the coming of the dinosaurs millions of years ago
The brook from the high country down towards the sea did flow.

Tennyson's brook still flowing and it will flow forever more
Through the fields and moors and woodlands on it's way to the sea shore
And it ripples through the meadow where it meets the little rill
And flows on to join the river and it's tongue is never still.

Tennyson's brook still flowing every night and every day
Through the valleys and the woodlands and the old fields far away
And it will babble on forever and men have come and gone
And the poet's verse is still living and life on Earth goes on

Francis Duggan

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/tennyson-s-brook/
