Screaming in the air, <br />tortured moans ringing in my ear. <br />Crying tears of blood, <br />I look at the red pool you're swimming in. <br /> <br />Faces caressed by a loving fire <br />and scorched by a running river, <br />never to stand still <br />until its shame is left behind. <br /> <br />Waking as the moon rises, <br />reflecting in the eyes of a wolf <br />starved of salvation. <br /> <br />Gentle winds <br />brush my lips <br />as if your passing soul <br />wants to say goodbye. <br /> <br />I hear the smile in his voice <br />and in a vain attempt, <br />strike him. <br /> <br />Cursing under his breath, <br />he pulls a dagger. <br />I smile as it dances at my throat, <br />wishful for a partner. <br /> <br />As the dagger is reunited with its lover, <br />I lay asleep upon your chest, <br />never to leave your side again.<br /><br />Death's Shadow<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/gentle-winds-3/
