What a fantastic tang, it was! <br />Unmatched and unheard of it, to date <br />Past many a full moons, un-faded yet! <br /> <br />Having had a meal, one may be dreaming <br />Perhaps for months, if not years! <br />How come? <br /> <br />Substance taken in to buccal cavity <br />Constituently, formed of a variety <br />Of textures, aromas, tastes, numerous <br />Designed parts and sites, meant to arouse <br />In and around oral crater <br /> <br />They pass on messages, in infinite amounts <br />To the Head Quarters, up cerebral bastion <br />For only lodging identity to each, on a memory chip <br />Momentarily in a jiffy, via electro-magnetic pulses <br /> <br />Nothing of matter, beyond oral cavity <br />Only one’s consciousness can call back <br />What was engraved, invisibly though, up there <br /> <br />One sees feels, smells and munches, once only, <br />And enjoys the taste psychologically <br />Perhaps for months, <br />if not years! <br /> <br />It is only one’s craving desires, <br />Which are not infrangible, but optional <br />Keep driving one towards the unique ‘feel’ <br /> <br />What a gross illusion, tastes are? <br /> <br />Physique per se, won’t ask for fantasies <br />Infatuated so much, for fulfilling duties <br />Though we, mostly <br />Are after, crazily!<br /><br />Jayatissa Liyanage<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-tastily-illusion/
