I've rarely spoken of the war before. <br />It's not something that I like to relive. <br />All I needed was to stop remembering the gore. <br />There was nothing much for me to forgive. <br /> <br />The acts that were done in the name of the free, <br />Should have been called what they were. <br />Many are committed to keep some wealthy in tea. <br />Wars are fought for greed, and the money they lure. <br /> <br />I truly hate war, and those that profit from it. <br />There should be a more sane way to make a buck. <br />The ones that keep doing this, it just doesn't fit, <br />I hope you know now, you're about to run out of luck. <br /> <br />The arms dealers and makers, should be ashamed, <br />What they do, and what they have done, to mankind. <br />There's more to life and you know you'll be blamed, <br />For the deaths of millions. I hope that's on your mind. <br /> <br />The Viet Nam War was such a disaster; <br />All those boys sent around the world. <br />Once again for the love of the piaster. <br />Not to have our flag unfurled. <br /> <br />If we haven't yet learned the facts of war, <br />Then we're bound to repeat the mistakes. <br />Let those within hearing distance, I implore, <br />Please let's stop these stupid retakes. <br /> <br />It always comes out the same, <br />More of the best and brightest are dead. <br />For those in power, it's you I blame. <br />Stop the insanity, before it costs you, your head!<br /><br />J.B.
