Christmas time is here again <br />Another chance to die <br />Those who are fighting in war <br />May say their last goodbye <br /> <br />The world is still not at peace <br />How much more can we endure <br />The leaders who speak of peace <br />Should start at their own front door <br /> <br />When I was young I was told <br />Christmas is a time of peace <br />If that's the case then how come <br />All fighting does not cease <br /> <br />The older I get the more I see <br />How much we are mislead <br />It's getting to the point for me <br />I doubt everything that's said <br /> <br />My country always speaks of peace <br />Yet, it always flexes it might <br />It seems that the USA <br />Is always ever ready for a fight <br /> <br />So many people are tired of war <br />Far too many have surely died <br />But it seems the only one's who care <br />Are the one's left behind to cry <br /> <br /> <br />12-8-09/RJH<br /><br />Ray Hansell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/another-year-of-war/
