Mother Loves Me <br />I wanted to be like you. Always have and always will. <br />Wished you were always here. Wished I could always be there. <br />I tried I really did. I tried to get you to love me. <br />I tried to get you to notice that I was there. <br />That I was still alive and still your daughter. <br />Here I am 15 years later feeling like I am my own mother. <br />Feeling like you never really wanted me. <br />You were never there for anything that had to do with me. <br />Even when I was the one in the spot light. <br />You always came up with something, anything just to get you out of it. <br />I loved you, I really did love you. <br />I looked over all the pain that you caused me. I looked over all the tears you made me cry. <br />I prayed that one day things would be different. <br />Really different, like maybe you would love me the same way as I love you. <br />But really 15 years have gone by and still nothing. <br />You’re still the same person, and I have tried to change to make you happy. <br />And really you say you’re my mother, <br />But really you’re just the person who calls herself that. <br />You say you love me. And I say you don’t. <br />Who knows maybe I’ll be like you that is what I have always wanted. <br />I have never wanted to be anyone else but you. <br />But if you think I want that now you’re funny. <br />My child will know I love her and that no matter what I will be there for her. <br />When she falls she will know that I’ll be there to help her up. <br />And when that boy she thought she loved breaks her heart, <br />I’ll be there for her whenever she needs me. <br />I’ll do everything I can for her.
