Promises <br />Real or fake <br />Opinion of which is yours <br />My opinion what I believe <br />Isn't something of which most agree <br />Seeing my way of thinking is not as <br />Easy as it seems most think I just dream <br /> <br />Promises <br />They're hardly kept and always made <br />For those who think in senseless ways <br /> <br />Two are married in a church <br />Then there's fighting and a curse <br />One holding to the promise made <br />The other just wants to go their own way <br />Never knowing, Never seeing <br />Just the pain that they're creating <br />Years go by, they look back <br />To what is now their past <br />Remembering sweet memories <br />Neither saw today's misery... <br /> <br />Promises <br />They're hardly kept and always made <br />For those whose love seems to stray <br /> <br />Out of town was he <br />A nice young man of 23 <br />On a mission for his wife-to-be <br />Yet when he came home, it was she <br />Who promised, then took with greed <br />Arms empty, Anger in his eyes <br />He wonders why he's so surprised. <br /> <br />Promises <br />They're hardly kept and always made <br />This I know to be true, which is why my mind is made. <br /> <br />Because of one man <br />I let no one make me promise or even think they can <br />He promised me the world <br />And he walked out on me when I was at the age of either 2 or 3 <br />Walk right out of life, I watched him leave. <br /> <br />No, I rarely make promises <br />But the extremely rare times that I do <br />Please believe, I'll fulfill them.
