To give up on all religion is something I did not plan <br />Since there is no advantage in being a Godless man <br />As people pigeon hole you and to each other say <br />He cannot be a good man to a God he does not pray. <br /> <br />I gave up on all religion since it occurred to me <br />That Christ he did a foolish thing to die on Calvary <br />For the sins of the masses and for flawed humanity <br />His point in dying for human kind I somehow fail to see. <br /> <br />Why waste your time devout one in praying for the dead <br />The dead are gone forever pray for yourself instead <br />Of the existence of a God or of a Satan none have come back to tell <br />Or of an afterlife life of heaven or of an afterlife of hell. <br /> <br />I am not a religious person nor I have never been <br />I have often looked up at the sky and God I've never seen <br />You go to Church on Sunday your hymns of praise to sing <br />But suppose we all are different and we all do our own thing.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/we-all-do-our-own-thing/
