Twisting turning sunshine burning <br />Blistered back and never learning <br />Had a notion using lotion <br />Could have saved so much commotion <br /> <br />Calamine used like distemper <br />Couldn’t ease unwanted temper <br />Tried to sit couldn’t sleep <br />Twisting turning burns so deep <br /> <br />In the morning brothers, sisters <br />Scratching at big angry blisters <br />Calamine put on in dabs <br />Turning blisters into scabs <br /> <br />Putting on a clean white shirt <br />Can’t complain how much it hurt <br />Painful itching had to scratch <br />Bleeding scab left bloody patch <br /> <br />Swearing oaths we each had learnt <br />Come next year to not get burnt <br />Summer ends by late September <br />And come next year we’ll not remember <br /> <br /> <br />© 2008 David Threadgold <br />Rambling Riddles
