Have you ever seen a morning <br />With a red sky turning blue <br />A heavy smell of freshness <br />From the meadows soaked with dew <br /> <br />Where birds sing out in chorus <br />A welcome for this dawn <br />And field mice dry their whiskers <br />Whilst they eat the sodden corn <br /> <br />Have you ever-smelt fresh coffee <br />From beans just ground by hand <br />Or bread straight from the oven <br />Top crusted nicely tanned <br /> <br />Where five bar gates swing open <br />To fields where cattle graze <br />While rabbits finish breakfast <br />And sun turns dew to haze <br /> <br />Have you ever felt green pleasure? <br />Filled lungs with air so pure <br />Away the aches and pains of life <br />Our countryside will cure <br /> <br /> <br />© 2008 David Threadgold <br />Rambling Riddles
