A shooting star passed overhead <br />Through heavens at such speed <br />Collecting peoples wishes <br />Giving hope to those in need <br /> <br />For all who viewed its travels <br />Expectations growing wild <br />A Roll Royce or a bag of sweets <br />From an adult or a child <br /> <br />How could it not remember? <br />No one ever wished for war <br />But every time a star goes by <br />There seems to be some more <br /> <br />It flashed beyond a big full moon <br />I thought that would be good <br />Until I heard the news that night <br />There had been another flood <br /> <br />So shooting star takes on my wish <br />To help all those in trouble <br />And should you need reminding <br />Get back here at the double <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />© 2008 David Threadgold <br />Rambling Riddles
