I keep a hard shell <br />because I feel like I need to. <br />I act all tough and happy; <br />but inside, I'm crushed and feeling blue. <br /> <br />I just know the world wouldn't understand me <br />because I'm a weird neurotic lass. <br />My mind works in abnormal ways; <br />I tend to dwell on the past. <br /> <br />There's just so much in myself <br />that people don't get. <br />But one bit of these things, <br />I'll never regret. <br /> <br />I may have uttered words <br />here and there, <br />sang some lines <br />that weren't dealt with care. <br /> <br />But I will never go back <br />and change anything, <br />not even if someone <br />offered me a pair of wings. <br /> <br />All my flaws and my faults, <br />they all make me. <br />I'm still growing and learning. <br />At the moment, there's no one I'd rather be.<br /><br />Cookie Matzii<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-teenage-life/
