I noticed a rising moon today <br />just before darkness fell <br />a perfect circle in full bloom <br />a beacon shining on the hill. <br /> <br />I stood in silence for awhile <br />in awe and admiration <br />as the moon so brightly shone <br />with glowing scintillation. <br /> <br />Man has neither gift nor skill <br />and lacks the magic power to <br />ever create 'one' circle of white <br />to light the world's dark hour. <br /> <br />Guilt and shame possessed my heart <br />as never before had I stood <br />to gaze in silence at the sight of <br />that beautiful lunar lamp of the night.<br /><br />Joyce Hemsley<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/lamp-of-the-night/
