When a neighbour turns on you, <br />strips your family into pieces, <br />tears up your home. <br />Takes your love, <br />your hand, <br />and more appendages <br />you watch them turn to menacing beasts, <br />their hearts turn a sickening black, <br />watchin' in horor, as the last warm breath, <br />emits from you, <br />with a resonating, resounding cry, <br />'why? ....' <br />'why? ....' <br /> <br />FRIEND: I have lost my mother, <br /> <br />'why? ...' <br />[sobs] I have lost her in her cries... <br />I did not want to hear them, <br />they scorched my soul, but <br />my feet kept running. <br />I wanted to, [save her] <br />I needed to, [save me] <br />But i had to, <br />there was none other, <br />but left a choice, <br />even my love. <br />'why? ...' <br /> <br />WITNESS: She lost her mother, <br /> <br />'why? ...' <br />She was my bride, <br />my tears engraved with her blood, <br />as my brothers, went even with the cries... <br />to tear and turn on souls. <br />I watched as she ran, <br />she wanted to, [love me] <br />she needed to, [leave me] <br />but she had to, <br />from my love, <br />from the blood. <br />for mine and her sake. <br />'why? ...' <br /> <br />NEIGHBOUR: He watched as she lost her mother, <br />she was his bride, <br />and he was her love. <br />They were the world, <br />and her mother their God. <br />She approved of them, <br />we took from her, <br />and she left her blood. <br />He watched as she left, <br />His heart never the same, <br />Hers, never again. <br />He wanted to, [save her] <br />He needed to, [let her] <br />and he had to watch her. <br />run in the other direction. <br />'why? ...' <br /> <br />They are, all tainted souls <br />tainted and tinted souls, <br />and I only cry, <br />not for my love, <br />not of my mother, <br />but of once upon a time. <br />when my eyes were not known, <br />to rivers of blood, <br />lost loves, <br />lost life. <br />I wanted to, [say this] <br />I needed to, [convey it] <br />and I had to, cry blood....<br /><br />Merlin Mwaura<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-cry-blood/
