When I was young, <br />I could lie for hours beneath a towering tree <br />At the park, with the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen beside me. <br />We would hold each other in our arms; tightly, <br />Until the long hours of the day had turned to night, <br />And only the moon and the stars could see our love. <br /> <br />When I was young, <br />I could look into her eyes and feel the world stand still, <br />Till time had eluded us and passed us by <br />I was left wondering, when would I see her again, <br />Beginning to miss her already <br />Before saying goodbye. <br /> <br />When I was young, <br />She opened my eyes <br />And showed me what Heaven was like <br />We were living in this world of ours <br />Where fairy tales weren’t make believe <br />And the dreams from our sleep would awaken into reality. <br /> <br />This poem is dedicated to 'My' girl...Jessica Lunar.<br /><br />Saul Diaz<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/when-i-was-a-youngster/
