Violin <br /> <br />I was too young to appreciate <br />Too young to value <br />Its worth, its ability <br />Its power to change <br /> <br />Our soul our mind <br />Its easily swayed, <br />Like the meadows in the wind <br />by the authority of this mysterious thing <br /> <br />But still, Furious and Enraged <br />I chimed in retort vile words <br />Refusing to play, but still I must <br />With an iron mind I refused to be controlled by This wooden contraption <br /> <br />Like a privileged brat <br />I undermine my parents love <br />And I showed no gratefulness <br />No affection, felt even hatred for this hopeless device <br /> <br />But as the pendulum swung <br />I began to realize <br />Like the snow thawing in spring <br />How incredible, exhilarating it could be <br /> <br />And I began to adore <br />not able to let it go <br />It talks only through sounds <br />Soothes without saying a word <br /> <br />I no longer play with hatred <br />No longer feel oppressed <br />I no longer show ungratefulness <br />All day music lives inside of me <br />All day music is inside my head<br /><br />Brian Kim<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/music-violin/
