This poor broken heart of mine; <br />Goes thru pain beyond what words can define. <br />Time after time you have ripped it apart <br />That I can’t recognise if it’s still my heart. <br />Nothings left of it to tear anymore. <br />The pieces so shattered that it I cannot restore. <br />You have torn it apart beyond belief <br />From this pain and torture there is no relief <br />So jagged are the wounds that it’s beyond repair <br />There is none to hear its cries of despair. <br />Though it struggles thru every heartbeat <br />It still doesn’t want to accept defeat. <br />For it still loves you with every dying beat left. <br />Trying hard to show the love for you it felt. <br />The wounds are too deep to mend <br />And only you and you alone can make the amend. <br />Every time you touch me I can feel the healing. <br />And I feel the pain leaving and fading <br />But you never stay enough to touch me longer <br />Instead you leave making the wounds only deeper. <br />You have stolen its faith in love <br />You have crushed its spirit and desire to live. <br />You considered its adoration as nothing but garbage <br />Yet it sees you like an angel in spite of all the damage. <br />Sometime I wonder if you worth all this pain. <br />In the end what is that I am going to gain. <br />Baby, I want to let you know that you are worth it all. <br />I wouldn’t go thru this pain if you were not the one. <br />I wish you were an ordinary girl who believed in fairytale love. <br />My love would have then swept you off your feet. <br />I hope when you get tired of searching what you looking for; . <br />You will finally find that true love has always been there waiting; <br />In this broken heart of mine.<br /><br />Danny D<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/this-broken-heart-of-mine/
