because of my drinking, a life was lost <br />now i must live in complete remorse. <br />no one can bring that loved one back <br />and their family, living with panic attacks. <br /> <br />it does not matter if we're drinking <br />when we're young or old. <br />the taking of a life will still unfold. <br /> <br />the thought will always enter your mind <br />if i had stopped to think <br />i would not have taken that drink. <br /> that person would be alive today <br />and with family, and friends they would play. <br /> <br />i did not realize the agony i would sustain <br />and their family living in constant pain. <br />i always said that i could control 'it'. <br />and that's not true. <br />for when you're high, you don't know what to do. <br /> <br />this is the price that we all must pay <br />for a life that i took that day. <br /> <br />now i'm waiting for a jury to decide <br />if i should live or i should die. <br />i at least put my life in capable hands <br />but 'the life i took did not have that chance'.<br /><br />louis rams<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/drunks-confession/
