In a dream on Dec 27 08 poster was in the room as the Dalai Lama gave a gold scarf to someone. <br /> <br />It is not that the Khmer Rouge, the Taliban, the priests <br />of the Spanish Inquisition, the Nazis, the Israeli government, the Puritans in Salem Massachusetts, the Ku Klux Klan, the Chinese Army in Tibet, the Japanese Army in China, <br />the Belgians in the Congo, the British, French and <br />Dutch in imperialist colonies, <br />the US military in Iraq, Afghanistan etc. have not been <br />horrendously violent, but that the founders of Christianity, <br />Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism etc. (Jesus, Buddha, Rama <br />and other Avatars, Mahavira) ask us to respond <br />with nonviolent action and prayer to atrocities. <br /> <br />Those of us who are taking baby steps on the road of <br />nonviolence or ahimsa can not claim to have reached the goal <br />until we are nonviolent not only in deed but in thought <br />and word. Neglect also can be a form of harming. <br /> <br />None of us have achieved nonviolence in all our interactions <br />with humans, animals, birds, reptiles, fishes, insects, <br />trees and plants.
