I know I never thanked you <br />But in my heart I always do <br />For all the inspiration <br />I was given right from you. <br />My feelings always hidden <br />You never knew me well <br />My thoughts were written down <br />For things I'd never tell. <br />In poetry and music <br />Somehow you were always there <br />To fill that space I guess <br />That knew you'd never care. <br />But I wouldn't trade a single day <br />And I don't have one regret <br />For I feel that I was truely blest <br />For the chance that we both met. <br />From all the people in the whole wide world <br />I'm sorry I singled you out <br />To be one special person I chose in life <br />To write my poems about. <br />You were my inspiration <br />And only God knows why <br />And it's something that I can't explain <br />So I won't even try.<br /><br />Sherri Vogel<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/you-re-my-inspiration/
