I want to do it out loud <br /> <br />I want to weep uncontrollably <br /> <br />I want to forget that no one is looking <br /> <br />I want to go inside, way down and pull <br />out the emotions that cause my eyes <br />to welt up with tears. <br /> <br />I want to knock over furniture <br />rant and rave like a spoiled child. <br /> <br />I want to curl up in a corner and sob <br />like a loved one has been called home. <br /> <br />I want the water to run from my eyes so <br />much that they begin to swell. <br /> <br />I want to scream into my pillow and <br />ask God why. <br /> <br />I want to silently gaze out a window <br />and just let that one tear fall. <br /> <br />Can I cry? <br /> <br />I’ll do it for all the lovers <br />For all the ones who have lost someone. <br /> <br />I’ll do it for humanity <br />For those that have been passed over in life. <br /> <br />I’ll do it for justice <br />For those that crimes have been committed against. <br /> <br />I’ll do it for peace <br />For the world to come to some resolution. <br /> <br />I’ll do it for you <br />My tears will be the prayers for you to have <br />Never ending happiness….so I ask <br /> <br />Can I cry?<br /><br />Sonya Johnson<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/can-i-cry/
