We think to walk life’s road at last <br />We say we’re born anew <br />Now rid of all our dreadful past <br />We’ve nothing more to do <br /> <br />But though we say, “Now life is mine <br />Grafted in David’s Root” <br />The Lord will surely prune His Vine <br />Of branches void of fruit <br /> <br />Until life’s war is finally won <br />Till Christ we join on high <br />The work on earth must still be done <br />Through such as you and I <br /> <br />Why else should God His wealth invest? <br />With thieves and lazy fools <br />Why should he grant us endless rest? <br />If when we’re not His tools <br /> <br />We duck and dive we twist and swerve <br />When work is close to hand <br />When Christ Himself, came down to serve –Mt.20: 28 <br />And humbly walk the land –Mt.8: 20 <br /> <br />Consider how The Truth first came <br />Ere Christ became our own <br />Before He took away our shame <br />And changed our heart of stone <br /> <br />How did our sorrows find their end? <br />How did death’s herald flee? <br />Was someone else not used my friend? <br />To set completely free <br /> <br />Do likewise now as Jesus said –Jn.13: 12-17 <br />Go forth and do the same –Mt.28: 18-20 <br />Let’s heal the sick, raise up the dead <br />In Jesus’ mighty name…<br /><br />Michael P.
