I sit in solitude in this dark room praying for you <br />You said fate cannot be avoided and it's true <br />For now you lay in hospital in such unbearable pain <br />My tears cannot help but impersonate the rain <br />If this is meant to be your fate then I cannot accept it <br />For your fate isn't to be torn up inside bit by bit <br />My tears building up as I remember the past <br />Memories flashing before my eyes ever so fast <br />The days we'd lay under the stars on the dry grass <br />Patiently waiting for a shooting star to pass <br />We were destined to move to the countryside <br />Fanatical ideas but we could've made it if we tried <br />We used to talk about having two boys and two girls <br />They'd have your hair but for eyes they'd have pearls <br />The romantic walks in the middle of the night <br />No sound or people with only the moon in sight <br />You would wake up to find breakfast beside our bed <br />'Forget breakfast I want only you' is what you said <br />Our relationship was based on love and trust <br />Filled with romance, pleasure and lust <br />I miss those precious moments so badly <br />My heart wasn't stolen for I gave it to you gladly <br />My love I know I have little time to ask for this <br />But before leaving would you give me a last kiss <br />Drowning in my sorrow so give me the kiss of life <br />I guess this time it really is goodbye my dear wife <br />Time has left true loves side on this dark night <br />Whilst I find comfort in these words that I write <br />Confusion surrounding me that I need to break free <br />I find solace in my mind for its a sanctuary for me <br />Goodnight my love close your eyes now and dream away<br /><br />Yassar Ali<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-lonely-star-2/
