I masked my sorrow <br />but at times it burst, <br />when the thoughts of the past years <br />came to the screen of my mind, <br />I could not help but weep. <br /> <br />Everything went stale and flat, <br />energy wanes and enthusiasm dies. <br />The barren days went by <br />without any knowledge. <br /> <br />Tears cascaded into my lap <br />like over-sized raindrops. <br />The weeks and months that followed <br />were a blur of grief. <br /> <br />My unhappiness brought gloom <br />to the household. <br />'No, ' I told myself, <br />'I must wake up.' <br /> <br />The setting sun was a blazing orange-red, <br />making the water absolutely glow. <br />The rain-washed hills looked beautiful. <br /> <br />All alone I tried to get over the sorrow. <br />Life must continue, <br />this life is not a bed of roses. <br />Sorrows and pains, <br />sickness and bereavement, <br />all are part of life in this world. <br />I must move on and take it easy.<br /><br />Aleyamma Jacob<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-unmasking-of-grief/
