Why has our time on earth to end? <br />What is this life about? <br />Why must man’s knee to Heaven bend? <br />Why are we filled with doubt? <br /> <br />Why has all life on earth to die? <br />Why is God’s curse abroad? <br />Why does our flesh make war on high? <br />Wielding its wilful sword <br /> <br />The fruit we bear from lying lips <br />Dark deeds endorsed to shame <br />Such shadows from a mind eclipse <br />Blaspheme The Father’s name <br /> <br />The flesh despises Heaven’s rule <br />Hating the voice within <br />In Satan’s arms it plays the fool <br />And dies the death of sin <br /> <br />Yet deep inside the truth is known <br />We hear God’s guiding voice <br />We fail to recognise His throne <br />Or make His way our choice <br /> <br />We disobey each royal command <br />Though power’s in His word! <br />Though life and death is in God’s hand <br />We live our lives absurd <br /> <br />The world believes the devil’s lies <br />That hell is here on earth <br />Looking at life though lustful eyes <br />She gives to darkness birth <br /> <br />But when love comes with light’s true dawn <br />When Jesus Christ draws near <br />When flesh to God becomes reborn <br />Darkness will disappear<br /><br />Michael P.
