Lord you have had me on this journey <br />Longer than I really felt I should. <br />I've walked unfamilar miles with you it seems <br />And haven't seen they've done me much of any good. <br /> <br />So why persist to take me to places? <br />That I benift you not? <br />Haven't you much better things to do? <br />Then to spend it on what I feel I haven't got? <br /> <br />It seems so hard to understand <br />What it is you're asking me yet to do. <br />I try to keep it all going down this path <br />But it's hard to keep falling and feeling as I do. <br /> <br />When I question the tests you've put me through <br />I have felt your presence and healing power. <br />And I know It only comes from walking nearer to you dear Lord <br />Which can only come in every minute of my waking hour. <br /> <br />So I'll continue on this journey, 'Lord' <br />Until you feel I have learned what it is I should. <br />And hope that you are pleased with me <br />In my search for what you knew I always could.<br /><br />Linda Winchell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/this-journey-s-got-the-best-of-me/
