The Straight And The Crooked <br /> <br />The straight is a luscious fruit <br /> to the crooked <br />The straight started out confused and afraid <br />Falling through a trap <br />Going through a maze <br />Full of life <br />Searching to stay alive <br />Usually young <br />Sometimes old <br />But hardly ever in-between <br />As the path we walk <br />We choose <br />Sometimes changing sides <br />Because the crooked are dead or dieing <br />Not feeling a thing <br />They are careless <br />All they can do is take and use <br />After the innocence is used up <br />It's worthless <br /> and thrown back <br />If the straight live <br />They will no-longer be afraid <br />But strong and brave <br />And you're not worthless to a man that can see <br />Let's not be worthless to one-another <br />Your tale is worth a lot to me <br />All I want to do is hear your story <br />Hold you <br />Help us see <br />Yourself <br />And me <br />I will tell you I know <br />Because I do <br />I have my story to tell too<br /><br />Roger Harkness<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-straight-and-the-crooked/
