The bush, its autumn twigs quite bare <br />stood, as a sentry in the silent woods. <br />Two lovers in the meadow's thoroughfare <br />as grass and undergrowth wear winter's hoods, <br />they say good bye and for the briefest moment kissed <br />she watched him go and he turned only once <br />then they were sat upon by an October mist <br />which rules the forests in the ancient land of Huns. <br />I wish that when the bush grows once again so green <br />and when the forest comes alive with innate sounds <br />when morning mists have left the native wintergreen <br />that on these paths where life renews its common grounds <br />two lovers find themselves inside a happy spring <br />where warmth and butterflies will welcome any guest <br />where pretty robins sit together while they sing <br />and where all lovers watch the sun set in the west.<br /><br />Herbert Nehrlich 2<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/in-the-forest-5/
