Remember LOVE, <br />the days in Spring <br />so long ago, <br />when we would be content <br />to spend unending hours <br />just to kiss, <br />you raised yourself on tippitoes, <br />I stooped and tilted <br />head and shoulders then. <br /> <br />But do you also still recall <br />how I was thrilled <br />to have you trickle <br />your saliva <br />on my lips, <br />my tongue <br />and then we would, <br />just for the fun of it <br />think lemons ernestly <br />and it would flow <br />into my mouth, <br />it was from you.... <br />and later we would talk <br />about the ptyalin <br />and how the salivary glands <br />(just six of them at that) <br />could thus be tricked <br />to make some more, <br />by just the mention of <br />the citrus fruit by name. <br /> <br />But, never mind the chemistry, <br />you were the nerd at times, <br />I loved the whole idea <br />and there was taste <br />to savour and, <br />in youthful madness <br />be enough to die for, <br />I had read the masters well, <br />and entertained no doubt.<br /><br />Herbert Nehrlich 2<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/salivary-memories/
