There’s something about synonyms that’s simply satisfying <br />They’re sensuous and marvelous. They make you feel like crying. <br />And beyond the central denotation <br />Of what they bring to conversations, <br />Each and every different nation <br />That has its different machinations <br />Blacks and Whites, Hispanics, Haitians, <br />All my brothers, even Asians, <br />Regardless of your situation <br />Should regard yourselves as synonyms <br />To him and him and him and him. <br />The point I try to make here in my mixed up weave of words <br />Is sheep will stay for all their days in separated herds <br />But they’re still sheep <br />When they go to sleep <br />At the end of the day… <br />Okay? <br />So when you find yourself caught up and fighting for the herd <br />Stop and look at what you do before some sheep get hurt, <br />Just remember truth, real truth, is held within the word. <br />Synonyms.<br /><br />Travis Snell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/synonyms/
