A boy called Hiya, <br />Felt his heart afire, <br />Aged just four, <br />To see a dolphin from the shore. <br /> <br />The dolphin's name was Simo, <br />Soon this boy's amigo, <br />Both quite sure, <br />Their love was pure. <br /> <br />Each day during school, <br />He'd wait as a rule, <br />Then leap with joy, <br />To see the boy. <br /> <br />Different world's colliding, <br />White waves riding, <br />A watery rodeo, <br />To make hearts glow. <br /> <br />In each other's eyes, <br />They saw no lies. <br />On sunny afternoons, <br />Both whistled tunes. <br /> <br />I hope to see tomorrow, <br />This messenger from Apollo. <br />I still let out a sigh, <br />When I look a dolphin in the eye. <br /> <br />I'm sure you'll agree, <br />It's good to be alive and free.<br /><br />Stephen Katona<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-dolphin-rider/
