Sentenced to whims granted, <br />Is the ungrateful approach to life... <br />Those cursed with wealth, <br />Who find themselves living their lives... <br />Bored to tears as socialites. <br /> <br />With wishes and dreams, <br />Limited to pomp and circumstance. <br />And restricted to proper etiquette... <br />That is artificially rimmed with affectation, <br />With a twist of limped wrist crime dined on. <br /> <br />And these are the carrots that are dangled, <br />To tease as a piece of the pie... <br />One drools unconsciously to obtain, <br />As if this is the objective of a 'good' life lived. <br />To awaken realizing one is bored to tears.<br /><br />Lawrence S.
