Quiet a pair we are, seemingly together yet afar <br />Like riverbanks, we stay near, but eternally apart <br />As two sides of a coin, who silently love, but never see one another <br />As the earth n sky, who always reflect in each other’s eye <br />Like the shore that patiently waits, for its love the waves <br />They violently rush; the sea pulls them away in a gush <br />We are like the sunflower and the sun <br />Who see each other, knowing they can never be together <br />As the phoenix, the fire it loves; burns it to ashes <br />For the precious love we crave, we get drawn as a moth to a flame <br />We end up bruised, beaten and burnt, though we never learn <br />We keep being together in lame, realizing this isn't any game <br />It is destined; you and I together can never shine <br />We will remain as one, but forever apart<br /><br />Blossom Mist<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/eternally-apart/
